Candy's Latin Restaurant is a new Dominican and pan-latin restaurant that opened in a humble little space in a small shopping center (well, tiny strip mall is more like it). It's right across from the fire station and soccer fields off SW 20th and thereby near a number of apartments and not far from UF's campus by car or bus.

Candy's food is first-rate: very simple, straight-forward Latin cuisine and certainly homemade and made right on the spot per order, too. Thi si s a family owned restaurant.  Candy and her mom are from Dominican republic, they are attempting to bring a pan-latin experience with Colombian, Venezuelan and Mexican items on the menu and latin music playing on the stereo. The owners are very friendly and while the menu is short, more items will be added in the future.

The arepas venezolanas and empanadas are big and expertly prepared and made on the spot. They have a short list of beers but these include some latin brands, very different and quite good.

We strive to serve you promptly. Although humble, we are a treasure in Gainesville and encourage people to try us.
